If you have concerns about your child's speech or language it is never recommended to "wait and see." When parents "wait and see" months of progress can be missed out on and the gap between a child with a delay or disorder and their peers can quickly become very wide.
We can provide you information on communication milestones during a free 20 minute consultation call and from there we can determine if we should move forward with a formal evaluation for your child.
If your child is three years of age or younger, we advise contacting the San Diego Regional Center for a free evaluation and requesting us as a provider. Our provider number is PY3726 and you can provide this number to your service coordinator. If your child is older than 3 years of age, in-home therapy services are available for private-pay. These services are available in English, Spanish or in both languages.

Augmentative Alternative Communication is a passion of mine, and I work with AAC users of all ages, including adults. If your loved one already has an iPad or tablet with a communication app such as Proloquo2go, Touchchat, GoTalkNow or TDSnap, but you are stuck with how to program it and model effectively and authentically, I would love to walk with you on your AAC journey.
The 10-session program is designed to empower parents and care providers with the knowledge and skills to support the client in effectively using their AAC device. Each hour-long session alternates between in-person and telehealth formats to ensure a balance of hands-on learning, real-time practice, and convenience. The program also emphasizes the importance of using AAC to facilitate communication, understanding operational features, customizing vocabulary, and advocating for AAC in an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Individualized Program Plan (IPP).

Developed by Dr. Strand at the Mayo Clinic,
DTTC is the Childhood Apraxia of Speech treatment approach with the strongest evidence base.
This approach is best for a child 3 years of age or older who is trying to speak, but is very hard to understand and has basic imitation abilities (claps when you clap).
We will focus on ten 1-2-syllable target words. These will be specifically selected for your child based on their phonemic inventory and functional needs.
Oral motor movements are cued by the therapist using modeling and hand-shape (tactile) cues. Temporal cuing means that sounds may be elongated in order to facilitate correct movements of the lips, tongue, and jaw -
ReST was developed by the Sydney School of Health Sciences at the University of Sydney.
ReST has been found most effective for children at least 5 years old, who have at least 4 initial consonants, 4 vowels, and can produce 2-syllable words.
We will focus on twenty 3-4 syllable target nonsense words.. I will create these based on your child's target sound(s) and phonemic inventory.
There are a few reasons this approach works. The child will not have an existing motor plan for the words. Therefore, they will make new neural connections to learn the sequence of movements.
The linguistic system (except phonology) is not required to activate, nor does it interfere with, the production of the word.
