“A truly amazing speech therapist and advocate! From the very first session Colleen had with my non speaking autistic son, I knew she was the perfect fit for him. She noticed something in my son that previous therapist took years to figure out or never did. That awareness for a child’s sensory profile is hard to find in a speech therapist. She has helped him make tremendous progress with his AAC device and verbal language. She goes above and beyond speech therapy; she includes self regulation strategies in sessions, is bilingual, and includes family and caregivers in every session. She also is an amazing advocate! "Colleen was exactly the person I needed to help me communicate my son's needs to a school team that was not understanding. My son had been denied IEP eligibility the prior year and was once again struggling in school. I knew I needed to take a different approach to get him what he needed in a tough district. We ended up with a solid IEP in place with Colleen's help. She knows the system from her experience as a school SLP and can bridge the gap between parents and schools. She took a pragmatic data-based approach and gave 110 percent in her role as an advocate to get my son what he needed. What I was most impressed by was that she really took the time to get to know my son as an individual and truly understood his needed. "Colleen was our son’s speech therapist for around 2 years. She went above and beyond to help our son excel in speech. When he started with Colleen, he was using very basic paper-based PECS. With Colleen guidance, he is now using an AAC device. We felt that our son was not just a client assigned to her, but that she truly cared about him and wanted to help him succeed.
